Two holes-in-one? That’s a Bolt from the blue for Simon!

A golfer from Bolton Old Links in Lancashire pulled off a golfing miracle – when he carded TWO holes-in-one during the same round.

With odds calculated at around 67 million-to-one, it’s no wonder Simon Wooff was left stunned by his achievement on 17 April.

Playing off a handicap index of 6.8, Wooff aced the fourth hole with an eight-iron shot from 150 yards.

It was his first ever hole-in-one and he didn’t have long to wait for number two.

On the 17th hole, he followed up by firing a six-iron into the cup from 187 yards!

Incredibly, the 53-year-old wasn’t the only Bolton Old Links member to enjoy that special feeling in any golfer’s life during the club’s monthly medal.

Just minutes before Wooff stepped up to strike his second ace of the round, Oliver Bowler holed out with a seven-iron at the 17th hole for HIS first ever hole-in-one!

“I’d just heard that Oliver had already aced the 17th a few groups in front of me,” admitted Wooff, a member at Bolton Old Links since 2010 (main image and below left with Oliver).

“Jokingly I said to my playing partners ‘I suppose I better get another one then’.

“Sure enough, perfect six-iron and in it dropped. It’s just incredible.

“I didn’t actually witness the ball drop for the first hole-in-one.

“The pin was hidden from sight and, as I walked to the green and couldn’t spot my ball, I assumed it was hidden in a dip before the flag.

“For the second one I saw it all the way and there was a bit of leaping about on the tee after the ball disappeared into the hole!

“It’s fantastic that both myself and Oliver got to experience the feeling of hitting our first ever holes-in-one on the same day.”

The extra bonus for Wooff was the fact his two holes-in-one helped him card a net 68 to a par of 72 and enjoy a cut to his handicap index.

The one consolation for Bowler on a day when his ace didn’t take all the plaudits was the fact he got to share the cost of the bar bill!

“Ironically, I was discussing with my playing partners that I needed to get my round back on track,” admitted Bowler.

“I told them the shot I would hit – in jest – but then actually did it!”
