Topgolf UK has pledged to support women and girls across all levels of the game after signing The R&A’s Women in Golf Charter.
The high-tech sports and entertainment company has venues in Hertfordshire, Essex and Surrey and is fully committed to developing an inclusive attitude towards women and girls who choose to participate or forge a career in golf.
In line with the aims of the charter, Topgolf UK will endeavour to increase the numbers of women and girls involved in the game through a policy of positive action and inclusivity at all their facilities.
“We are always looking for ways to grow the game of golf,” said Andrew Agnoli from Topgolf UK.
“The R&A Women in Golf Charter is a great initiative. Topgolf UK want to support it and commit to doing our part with the growth of the game for women and girls.
“In the past we have had success with big taster events focused on allowing women and girls to have a try at golf, so we wanted to build on those experiences with the Charter.
“We commit to using the Topgolf experience to promote golf to women, girls and families in many ways.
“Examples of our commitment include using our Topgolf Coach PGA Pro’s in the venues to break down any barriers to playing golf, family offerings to give golf a try and our Bays to Fairways programme turning non golfers into golfers.”
Topgolf UK will also promote gender equal events with a designated charter champion driving all their initiatives while a welfare officer will be in place to ensure compliance with SafeGolf accreditation.
Clubs and counties all across England are pledging their support to the Women in Golf charter with Oundle Golf Club in Northamptonshire, Stoke by Nayland Golf Club in Essex and Trentham Park in Staffordshire all recent signatories.
