Surrey golfer Samantha Rowan has led 10 qualifiers into the England Golf Grand Medal Final to find the country’s champion woman medal player.
Samantha, from Drift Golf Club, won the South Region final at Blackmoor Golf Club in Hampshire with a net score of 70, two-under par.
The other qualifiers for the Grand Medal Final are: Mandy Hiscocks of Banstead Downs Golf Club, Surrey; Jacquie Cawley of Windlesham Golf Club, Surrey; Sally Brown of Ifield Golf & Country Club, Sussex; Kaylin Screene of Croham Hurst Golf Club, Surrey; Lynne Bray of Dummer Golf Club, Hampshire; Colleen Alton of Nevill Golf Club, Sussex; Susan Crossen of Bognor Regis Golf Club, Sussex; Heather Kitson of Cranleigh Golf & Country Club, Surrey; and Susan Eccles of Rye Golf Club, Sussex.
The regional final was contested by players from across England Golf’s South region which covers Hampshire, Kent, Middlesex, Surrey and Sussex.
The successful 10 players will meet qualifiers from five other regional finals at the Grand Medal Final at Frilford Heath in Oxfordshire on Thursday, 13 August.
The Grand Final will be a feature of Golf Week, staged by England Golf to create a national grand finale for a host of handicap and team championships.
