Kris Kim will take a commanding eight shot lead into the final day’s play as he bids to claim a wire-to-wire victory in the Reid Trophy.
The Walton Heath golfer followed up an opening round of 67 with a stunning score of 65 at Porters Park Golf Club in Hertfordshire.
Kim’s round included five birdies and no bogeys – an extremely impressive performance from the 13-year-old England regional squad player.
Two players are tied for second spot on a tally of level par – Ayden Knight (pictured above) from Tidworth and Thorndon Park’s Charlie Croker.
Knight carded a first round 73, but was six shots better today helped by six birdies on his card.
Croker opened with a round of 68 and signed for a second round 72 including three birdies and five bogeys.
After today’s round, the top 70 players now progress to the third and final day where another 18 holes of stroke play will decide the winner of the English Boys’ Under 14 Open Amateur title.
Kim and Ronnie Groves from Enville are tied together on four under par in the handicap section of the championship.
