England’s under 16s followed up their overwhelming 17½ – 2½ victory over Wales by beating their Scottish equivalents 16-9 at Blackwell in Worcestershire over the weekend.

After an 8-2 success in the opening series of medal play singles, England were brought back to earth when the Scots took the foursomes 3½ – 1½ to leave the hosts ahead 9½ – 5½ at the end of day one.

But the English boys surrendered only two of the following day’s match play singles with three games halved to take the final series 6½ – 3½.
