England Golf has boosted its supplier network and added further value for clubs through a new agreement with the Golf Management Group.
Having first started working together back in 2017, the extension of this relationship comes at a time when operating costs are continually rising and clubs will be looking to ensure they pay the best price they can for a number of their key services.
The Golf Management Group (GMG) is a purchasing alliance created in 2010 which sets out to increase profitability for independent clubs across the UK. It uses its collective purchasing power to get significant discounts without compromising on quality or service.
As the connection between the two organisations has grown, so too has the range of areas that GMG can help clubs save money.
Initially starting with waste disposal, washrooms and their energy club, which has already helped saved thousands of pounds on utility bills since it started, their services now extend to EV charging points, solar installations and food & beverage purchasing.
Gavin Anderson, club support manager for England Golf, said: “Extending our relationship with the Golf Management Group is hugely important and something we know is going to help clubs save money at a time when costs only seem to be going one way.”
“We are extremely happy to be continuing our association and look forward to seeing the huge benefits it will bring to clubs over the coming years, especially in areas focused on making them more environmentally sustainable.”
To complement the procurement benefits, clubs using GMG services also have access to Contracts-Manager, an online tool designed to manage all service and utilities contracts. The system will prompt clubs at critical dates when they might wish to look for more competitive arrangements.
Scott Partington, director and founder of GMG, added: “Our connection with England Golf has gone from strength to strength with over 500 affiliated clubs taking advantage of our free service to reduce their costs.
“The economies of scale we can produce are certainly making an impact with savings close to £1,000,000 since we started working together.”
“At GMG we have industry experts on hand to help clubs make informed decisions which are evidenced by the significant increase in enquiries at the GMG Energy Club over the last six months as clubs look for advice on the current energy market given recent increases.
“The most popular area for making savings has proved to be refuse collection with an average saving of 19% and generally the starting point when introducing our services to clubs.
“Continuing the relationship with England Golf for three more years is a huge endorsement of our work to date and one myself and all of the team at GMG are very proud of.”
A series of webinars will be hosted throughout the remainder of 2022 which will help to highlight and provide more detail on each of the areas that GMG can save clubs money.
