As part of our Give It A Shot golf club membership campaign, we spoke to Tadmarton Golf Club member Tara Hulme.
Aligning with the ‘Join The Club’ theme of Women and Girls in Golf week, Tara initially got involved through the women’s academy programme at her club.
Joining a golf club is one of the best things I’ve ever done. It enables me to focus on my game, but also meet lots of other people.
The flexible side of academy membership appealed to her, allowing her course and facility access at her own leisure, without the commitment of full-time membership.
However, with her game quickly improving the more she played, it wasn’t long before Tara upgraded her membership.
“I originally signed up for an academy programme because it was a course I didn’t know and it provided flexibility for my level of commitment at the time,” said Tara.
“I didn’t stay an academy member for long! It was only about three months before I upgraded. I found that I was enjoying it and playing so much that I joined as an associate member and now play very regularly.
“Joining a golf club is one of the best things I’ve ever done. It enables me to focus on my game, but also meet lots of other people.
“I’ve seen from being a member for a year that there are lots of ways to engage further with the club
“The best thing about my golf club membership is the ability to meet other golfers and always have someone to play with.”
