Lancashire’s Phil Harvey joins England Golf board
Phil Harvey has been elected to the England Golf board as a non-executive director following a vote at the 2021 AGM.
An executive director of the Lancashire Union of Golf Clubs, Harvey replaces Gloucestershire’s Ian Watkins who has retired.
Alistair Booth was re-elected to the position of non-executive director at the AGM held this year online in accordance with COVID-19 regulations.
Harvey has an entrepreneurial background having launched and operated several businesses in the marketing and telecoms sectors.
A member at both Royal Birkdale and Fairhaven, the 57-year-old (pictured above) joined the board of the Lancashire Union of Golf Clubs in 2011.
In 2015 he was elected county secretary and devised and led a two-year initiative to promote participation and club membership among women and girls.
Since retiring as county secretary in December 2020, Harvey has remained active as a volunteer and presently serves on England Golf’s independent golfer working group.
