Going for gold – England teams share Euro vision

Four England teams this week embark on their quests to be crowned European champions.

England’s women head to the Welsh coast and Conwy Golf Club to defend their European Ladies’ Team Championship which was won in spectacular fashion last summer at Royal County Down.

The triumphant 2021 team is pictured below.

England’s men have home advantage when they tee it up at Royal St George’s in Kent in their effort to win the European title for a 12th time.

The England boys’ squad has flown to Germany in their bid to win the European title for the first time at Golf St Leon-Rot.

Meanwhile, England’s girls are in the land of ice and fire hoping to keep their cool in the heat of competition when they face Europe’s best at Oddur Golf Club near the Icelandic capital, Reykjavik.

The action in all four events gets underway on Tuesday with two rounds of individual stroke play.

Teams then split into flights depending on aggregate scores from the stroke play.

From Thursday, the championships switch to a match play format with England hoping to go for gold by the time the final day comes around on Saturday.
