Hundreds of golf clubs and driving ranges across England are backing National Golf Month in May with great value opportunities to get into the sport.
Events in England include golf club open days, taster sessions, beginner and improver courses and playing offers. Full details about these are available by clicking here.
National Golf Month is being held across the UK in May and is being driven by the Bauer Media Group and the British Golf Industry Association (BGIA). It aims to attract beginners and 100,000 lapsed golfers.
The month is supported by England Golf through the Get into golf campaign, which is run by the network of County Golf Partnerships.
Richard Flint, England Golf’s Club Services and Development Director, said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming beginners and returners to golf during National Golf Month.
“It will highlight the many great value opportunities which are available all year round through our Get into golf campaign.
“Golf is a great game for people of all ages. There’s no better way to meet friends and make new ones or to enjoy the fresh air – and it offers many health and wellbeing benefits. There’s never been a better time to start!”
Encouraging more people to play golf is part of the emerging England Golf Strategic Plan for 2014-17. The plan sets out to inspire people of all ages to make golf a part of their life and aims to reverse the trend of declining club membership.
