Internationals Gemma Clews, Sammy Fuller and Sophie Lamb will represent England in the Nations Cup at the Welsh women’s open stroke play championship.
The 54-hole event starts tomorrow Ashburnham Golf Club and the team event counts the best two scores from three in each of the rounds.
Gemma Clews, 22, (Delamere Forest, Cheshire) and Sophie Lamb, 19, (Clitheroe, Lancashire) were the leading players in England’s winning team in last weekend’s mixed international against Spain.
The pair were foursomes partners and Lamb won all four of her games while Clews took 3.5 points from four. Lamb is the British stroke play champion and Clews has won two prestigious stroke play events this year.
Sammy Fuller, 17, (Roehampton, Surrey) reached the quarter finals of the recent French U21 championship and tied 15th with Lamb in the Helen Holm Scottish open stroke play.
The team reserve is Fuller’s younger sister, Annabell, also from Roehampton, Surrey.
