How to play for England

There’s no application process. So the simple answer? Keep practising.

The long answer is that our coaches, managers and selectors are always looking for promising players. They check the amateur rankings and visit the major amateur tournaments to identify the best people to represent England.

We look for players who perform well, achieve consistently good results, and have a great attitude, both on and off the course.

Regional coaching squads

Every year there is an opportunity for talented young golfers aged under 18 to apply to join our regional coaching squads.

It could be the stepping stone to great things. Past Masters Champion Danny Willett and Georgia Hall, the Women’s British Open Champion, are among the graduates of England regional coaching.

Keep an eye on our website – we’ll update it with information how to apply when we’re ready for the next intake.
