England Golf amateurs Hannah Golding, Mike Durkin and Neil Garbutt chased their golfing dreams to an outing with Ryder Cup player Nicolas Colsaerts.
Golding, 14, also followed up with a range session with her idol, Charley Hull.
It all happened for the trio when they teamed up to win the Bridgestone Chase Your Dream Trophy, which was open to members of England Golf’s 1900+ affiliated clubs.
Golding (Brocton Hall, Staffordshire), Durkin (Hurlston Hall, Lancashire) and Garbutt (Masham, Yorkshire) played through club, regional and national rounds before confirming their success in the pro-am of the Bridgestone Challenge at Luton Hoo. Their performance there won them a place in the pro-am of the British Masters, supported by Sky Sports.
That’s when they teamed up with Colsaerts for a money-can’t-buy experience at Close House, Northumberland.
As if that wasn’t enough, Golding went on to meet her idol Charley Hull on the Close House driving range, which was filmed live by Sky Sports Golf and later Sky Sports News, in a feature that was repeated every hour throughout the day.
Both Hull and Golding hit balls on the range and the youngster – a member of England Golf’s U16 West Midlands regional squad – won the praise of her hero.
