England qualified in fourth place after the 36-hole stroke play stage of the European Boys Team Championships at Lindingo in Sweden.
Their aggregate of 27 over par for the team of six left them 15 strokes behind top placed Italy.
In the individual standings, Max Orrin (image © Tom Ward) from Kent was England’s leading scorer in joint second place on level par while Ashton Turner from Lincolnshire was tied eighth on two over after a closing 69.
Victor Tarnstrom from Sweden led the individual on three under par.
In today’s first round of the match play stage, England face fifth-placed Ireland for a spot in the semi-finals.
The other qualifiers are Italy, Sweden, Norway, Germany, France and Scotland.
