Aileen wins her first England title
Aileen Greenfield shrugged off the bridesmaid's tag when she sealed a convincing 6/4 victory in the English senior women's championship at Hallamshire, Sheffield.
Monday 13th May 2019 – Friday 17th May 2019
This two-stage championship is open to women aged 50 and over on the first day of the event.
Stage One is 36 holes of stroke play, with the full field playing 18 holes on each of the first two days.
Stage Two is match play in two flights. The 32 players with the lowest scores after the stroke play qualify for the Wendy Taylor Salver (Flight 1). The winner will be the English senior women’s champion.
The players with the 16 lowest scores after the stroke play rounds, who are 60 or over on the first day of the championship, will qualify for the Ann Howard Trophy (Flight 2).
Players aged 60 or over may choose which flight they would like to play in but they must declare their decision at registration. No changes can be made after this time.
