Curtis Cup stars Holly Clyburn and Charley Hull are among 11 players to receive sponsor invitations to next week’s ISPS Handa Ladies British Masters at Buckinghamshire Golf Club, Denham.
Among the others to receive invitations to the Ladies European Tour event are local player Rachel Drummond who works at the Buckinghamshire and, like Holly and Charley, is a member of England Golf’s Performance Squad.
Holly,(image © Leaderboard Photography) who is currently playing in the US women’s amateur championship, said: “I am thrilled to be playing in the ISPS Handa Ladies British Masters and thankful to the sponsors for the opportunity. It is going to be my first start on the LET, so I hope it all goes well and I am able to take some valuable experience with me to Tour school later this year.”
This will be Charley’s fourth start in a professional tournament this year. The 16-year-old was 38th in the first Major of the season, the Kraft Nabisco Championship in California , then finished fifth when she made her Ladies European Tour debut in Turkey in May. Last week she tied for 18th as the leading amateur at the Irish Open.
Rachel Drummond commented: “It will be an amazing experience. Having been bought up in the same county it is extremely special that is it being played at Buckinghamshire Golf Club where I work. It’s great that I know the course and I hope this will be beneficial. I look forward to being able to welcome my family and friends which will be a huge support.”
The tournament takes place from August 16-18 and will be the only time that the Ladies European Tour visits the south of England in 2012.
