Clubs affiliated to England Golf are invited to run qualifying competitions for The R&A’s 9 Hole Challenge – and give their members a chance of playing in the final at Royal Portrush.
All clubs have to do is hold a 9 hole qualifying competition before Friday, 7 June. The scores of the top two players will be added together to give a team score.
The leading nine pairs in England will qualify for the final, which will be played on Saturday 13 July 2019, on the eve of The Open.
Their fellow competitors will be pairs from the other home countries and from Australia, This will be the third time the Challenge has taken place and so far it has been won by English players.
The R&A will pay for the finalists’ travel and accommodation on the night of Friday 12 July, where there will be a dinner for the players. After play on Saturday there will be a closing lunch and presentation of prizes.
