Your club holds a great deal of information. This includes data about employees, volunteers, players, members, website/app users and more.
If you’re storing information that could be used to identify a living individual, you need to consider the impact of data protection legislation on how you handle that information.
Important changes to data protection law
The law was refreshed and enhanced by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which came into force in May 2018.
We’ve worked with our legal partners, Mills & Reeve, to create a briefing document showing you what compliance should look like at your club.
If you have any questions, you can contact the England Golf legal helpline managed by Mills & Reeve.

The Sport and Recreation Alliance has created a GDPR Toolkit which includes a set of template documents and a series of FAQs. You can access it here.
