What do I need to know about the World Handicap System?

Golf Club Resource Hub

What is the World Handicap System?

The World Handicap System is designed to welcome more players, to make golf easier to understand and to give all golfers a handicap which is portable all around the globe. Developed by the R&A and The USGA It will replace the six different systems currently used by over 15 million golfers in more than 80 countries.

Despite the Coronavirus pandemic, England Golf – together with our partners in CONGU – remain focused on launching the World Handicap System (WHS) on 2 November 2020 and are working to ensure relevant handicap platforms are developed and tested in line with the current schedule.

World Handicap System Toolkit

The toolkit has been created to help you, the golf clubs, with education your members on the key changes of the new World Handicap System. the toolkit contains over 100 resources for you to use to help you to do this, including; Posters, social media graphics, TV screen graphics, guidance documents, video and presentations.
