Get to know the new World Handicap System™ in detail with the downloadable toolkits from this educational page.

These toolkits and guides were designed to help you understand the science behind every calculation and how different elements of the system work behind the scenes, even without golfers being aware they’re happening.

Learn here about how course handicaps and playing handicaps are calculated and how course rating, slope rating and other factors are taken into account when producing an accurate reflection of a golfer’s handicap on any given day.

England Golf WHS™ Workshops

Our WHS™ team will be out on the road from February to provide WHS™ support and guidance to clubs and counties.

The series of workshops will be presented regionally, providing detail and information for club handicap committee members, senior club personnel, and county delegates.

Each session will be interactive, with delegates asked to bring a charged laptop or tablet, and their WHS™ portal log-ins, so they can be supported to utilise various reports within the system.

Agenda items will include:

  • Score and Handicap Index® manipulation
  • Is WHS™ too complicated?
  • Responsibilities of the golfer, attester and handicap committee
  • Course Rating™
  • Plus, lots more
