England international Nathan Kimsey could be set for big win soon after three second places Down Under in the space of a fortnight.
Having finished runner-up in the Lake Macquarie International and the New South Wales medal, the 19 year old from Lincolnshire was denied the title in the Avondale Medal.
Three strokes ahead going into the final round at the Sydney club, Kimsey posted 73, his worst return over all three events, for 207, six under par, and was overtaken by the fast-finishing Callan O’Reilly from the nearby Pennant Hills club with 66 for 205.
The host club’s Matthew Wittenberg was third on 210.
Neil Raymond also returned a closing 73 for 220 and joint 16th place, while Garrick Porteous finished six shots further back after a third round 77.
