A Surrey golf club is breaking down the time barriers to playing the game with a new nine-hole membership.
Limpsfield Chart will launch its 99 Club this month based on the ideal of ‘quick golf’, with nine holes in 90 minutes.
The initiative supports the national Golf Express campaign, run by England Golf to promote short format golf and encourage busy people to play more often.
Caroline Hardy-Evans, an England Golf Surrey county officer, said: “Not everyone has the time and money to engage with a golf club in the traditional way. By promoting shorter, faster formats we are showing busy people that golf really can fit into their lifestyle and the 99 Club supports this.”
Joining the 99 Club costs £299 and offers golf after 4pm in the summer. It includes social activities and organised events that make it the perfect post working day release.
“It’s social and fun golf for busy people who are fed up with traipsing round a golf course for five or six hours,” says the club’s Business Development officer Peter Masters. “Evening golf is a great way to wind down.”
