Welcome to our first Golf DNA national report, hosting a collection of national statistics and benchmarks that cover a wide range of topics and areas of the golf club landscape in England.

Information has been collected over the course of 2023 via two main methods:

  1. Our team of Club and County Support Officers have been working with golf clubs all over the country, collecting information to create a range of national and regional benchmarks. This process ensures that golf clubs in every county are represented to create a true national benchmark.

  2. Our team of office-based administrators have been collecting information from a range of sources, including golf club websites and open data sources.

The information in this report reflects the key topics covered in 2023, with each benchmark having been taken from a minimum sample of 25% of all clubs in England (438), with all statistics being collected from an average of 45% (788) of clubs in England.

Golf clubs and counties can gain access to local, regional and specific benchmarks through contacting their Club and County Support Officer.
