Quartet will defend European Young Masters title

The new McGregor Trophy champion, Conor Gough, is one of four players representing England in this week’s European Young Masters.

He will be joined by Rosie Belsham, Max Hopkins and Caitlin Whitehead for the 54-hole championship at Hauger Golf Club, Norway, from Thursday to Saturday, 26-28 July.

Gough, 15, (Stoke Park, BB&O) was a member of last year’s winning England team at the event. Since then he has won the boys’ Fairhaven Trophies and last week’s English U16 boys’ McGregor Trophy. (Image copyright Leaderboard Photography.)

Rosie Belsham, 16, (Whitley Bay, Northumberland) was runner up in the Scottish girls’ open and has just played in The R&A’s Junior Open.

Max Hopkins, 15, (Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire), is an U16 international, with a string of good finishes behind him.

Caitlin Whitehead, 15, (Carus Green, Cumbria) won the West of England women’s open and reached the last 32 of the British women’s championship.
