The UK Government updated their stance on the national lockdown on 22 February to include the ‘roadmap to return’.

This roadmap out of lockdown included the re-opening of golf courses from 29 March 2021. From this date, the England Golf ‘Play Safe, Stay Safe’ protocols for playing the game should be referenced by all golfers and golf clubs.

Clubs/facilities should adhere to the guidelines provided when courses re-open for play. These protocols are regularly updated to reflect current government and industry regulations.

These have been published to assist clubs/facilities in providing as safe an environment as they can. Failure to follow this guidance may leave clubs/facilities open to enforcement action from local authorities and/or Police, or subject to disciplinary procedures from England Golf.

Guidance may require to be re-issued as government measures to combat COVID-19 are reviewed and updated.

Following the government’s planned removal of national COVID-19 restrictions, and subject to any further changes, the current ‘Play Safe, Stay Safe’ guidance will be updated from 19 July.
