England Golf has joined forces with leading sports turf consultancy STRI to deliver a specially designed workshop for Chairs of Green and golf club secretary/managers.
The practical workshop, ‘Learn, Share and Network’ will run on Tuesday 17th January as part of the BIGGA Turf Management Exhibition in Harrogate.
The workshop builds on the highly successful Chair of Green learning and development courses previously presented by STRI at both national and regional events.
Alistair Beggs, Head of Agronomy at STRI is delighted to have the support of England Golf. “The workshop will discuss course issues and problem solving. It is essential that all clubs understand the importance of playing qualities and can set measurable and achievable targets for improvement whether dealing with playability of greens or other critical areas of the course”.
Laura Rushby, Head of Training and Education at England Golf, explained: “Following the successful Business Growth Hubs and Chair of Green workshops, feedback from delegates was for more sessions to learn and network with people in the same role from other clubs across the country.
“This workshop with STRI is a great opportunity for Chairs of Green to be able to share ideas, increase knowledge and understanding to support their head greenkeepers and ask experts questions to help with their golf course management plans.”
The workshop will include a Q&A session, chaired by England Golf and involving a panel of industry experts representing all areas of golf course and club management.
