England Golf’s highly popular Senior Series is back for 2021 and goes ‘live’ for bookings on Monday 15 March at 9am.
And the message is clear – be quick off the mark.
Earlier this month bookings opened up for the England Golf Captains’ tournaments – and within just six minutes the ‘sold out’ sign was up for the event at Lindrick Golf Club!
Are you a golfer aged 50 or over on the day of the event and a member of an affiliated golf club with an official WHS handicap index?
Fancy enjoying a great day of competition challenging for scratch and handicap prizes at one of eight amazing venues across England and sharing a fun day out with like-minded golf enthusiasts?
If so, first of all, make sure you create your England Golf profile on our website.
Then from Monday 15 March at 9am, you can go online to enter one or more of our great Senior Series events.
We have eight stunning venues selected for the 2021 season.
- 26 May – Lindrick Golf Club (main image)
- 2 June – Coventry Golf Club
- 8 June – The Wilmslow Golf Club
- 16 June – Saunton Golf Club (pictured below)
- 23 June High Post Golf Club
- 30 June – Berkhamsted Golf Club
- 7 July – Pannal Golf Club
- 21 July – Stowmarket Golf Club
Each venue will host a field of 120 players playing an 18-hole Stableford competition.
The top eight players from each tournament (or a pro-rata number of qualifiers if fields are not full) will book a place in the Senior Series National Final to be held at Woodhall Spa Golf Club in August.
James Crampton, England Golf’s director of championships, said: “These Senior Series events grow in popularity every year.
“We’re fully committed to offering great opportunities to handicap golfers all over England – and our seniors are no exception.
“This year’s venues are magnificent. There’s a real variety in the style of golf courses, but they all guarantee a warm welcome for visitors and a true, fair test of golf.
“Above all else, they offer the prospect of a fun day out in great company and I’m sure this will be reflected in the clamour to reserve places.”
The first event will be staged at Lindrick Golf Club – the host of the 1967 Ryder Cup – in May.
There are then five events scattered throughout June. Coventry Golf Club (pictured below) with its parkland features will be a test for all golfers while The Wilmslow Golf Club is always in immaculate condition.
The beauty of North Devon is captured in the East Course at Saunton while High Post is a ‘hidden gem’ featuring one of the late Peter Alliss’ favourite golf holes.
Berkhamsted is a regular England Golf championship venue and, despite being bunker-free, presents plenty of natural challenges.
In July, Pannal’s tree-lined fairways and slick greens will no doubt prove to be a draw for visitors.
Stowmarket completes the circuit for 2021 with the pretty parkland venue in the peaceful Suffolk countryside providing a fitting backdrop for the climax to the Senior Series.
Each event costs £57.50 to enter with every competitor enjoying a roll and a tea/coffee on arrival, a round of golf, a two-course lunch as well as the chance to win scratch and handicap prizes on the day and a place at the national final.
