This online classroom introduces the role of the Welfare Officer.
This virtual session of Time to Listen (TTL) is an alternative delivery method created by the NSPCC’s Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU) and replaces the previous face to face TTL workshop. The learning outcomes remain the same and it therefore meets the requirements of SafeGolf.
In order to achieve full SafeGolf accreditation, clubs and counties must appoint a welfare officer who has completed Time to Listen training. All affiliated golf clubs in England must achieve the SafeGolf standard (which includes completing a Safeguarding & Protecting Children workshop) by the end of March 2021 but have until the end of December 2021 for their Welfare Officer to obtain the TTL certification.
PLEASE NOTE: Welfare officers must have attended an SPC before a TTL course. You can book your place on a TTL at the same time as booking your SPC so long as you attend the TTL after the SPC. The TTL booking system asks if you have attended an SPC. If you have your SPC booked, but haven’t yet attended, please tick YES on the TTL booking system. You do not have to wait.
Please find available SPC courses here. If there are no suitable dates listed then please visit the UK Coaching website where you will find additional dates, including some held at weekends.
The virtual TTL classrooms listed below are open to Club and County Welfare Officers. Please note, session prices may vary dependent upon the provider.
We do have a ‘waiting list’ for delegates who wish to be contacted should a cancellation arise for an earlier course than booked. If you would like to be added to this list, please contact Jayne Harrison.
