Beginner Golfers

The Golf Foundation is a registered charity set up in 1952

It works with schools, community organisations and clubs by providing adapted equipment, training workshops, resources, grants and support from a network of Regional Development Officers.

The Golf Foundation has two strategic aims:

1. To provide any young person, regardless of background or ability, with the opportunity to enjoy the playing and personal benefits of golf.

2. To help any young person to ‘Start, Learn and Stay’ in golf by providing a player pathway.

Golf Access is a programme that is designed to support clubs to increase the number of beginner golfers and provide them with a structured route to becoming regular players.

The programme supports participants through nine different levels. The colour-coded scoring system helps players move from complete beginner through to a level where they are confident and competent enough to play on the full course off standard tees.

Developing young golfers

GolPhin is an organisation whose “MyPathway2Golf” programme provides PGA coaches, assistant professionals, junior organisers and volunteers with an exciting and comprehensive package of resources to help young people learn and progress within golf.

Engage with young golfers

GolfParc: The GolfParc Championship Golf Hole, designed and produced by Factory Eleven, provides a flexible resource that can be utilised in a number of different ways to support golf clubs in their work to engage young people and new starters across the wider community.

GolfParc has been designed so that it can be easily transported by car and quickly set up in a wide range of recreational spaces such as sports facilities, parks, school halls and playgrounds. This transforms them into fun and engaging golf courses for family play, junior coaching or competitions as well as events out in the local community.
