Saunton Golf Club

Saunton Golf Club provides opportunities to juniors of all levels through taster sessions, structured coaching with progression, and competitions that support handicap development, to become the first Junior Hub.

The Junior Hub award showcases clubs that are the ‘right place’ for juniors to try, learn, and love golf – supporting the club in their commitment to growing their junior section and showcasing pathways and best practice to other clubs.

Fulwell Golf Club

Fulwell Golf have built a structured, long-term plan to achieve their sustainability priorities, going beyond imposed sustainability legislation and asking, “How can we help?” With full club and community investment, working with London Borough of Richmond upon Thames Biodiversity Action Plan group and Habitats and Heritage, they are making strides to positively improve wider perceptions of golf.

Lymm Golf Club

Like so many golf clubs, Lymm Golf Club saw the age profile of their members increasing and recognised an initiative was needed to get new faces on the fairways.

They identified that there was a big opportunity to increase junior membership and through this, encouraged further participation and integration of younger families.

Leyland Golf Club

When the Club in Focus series launched in 2023, we highlighted the Golfing Memories group at Leyland Golf Club for their work creating opportunities for all in the community to enjoy golf.

To align with Dementia Action Week, we revisited the club to hear how the initiative continues to add value to those living with dementia.

Cottingham Parks

Prior to 2010, Cottingham Parks Golf Club had a dwindling junior section.

Following fundraising to improve their short game area, the club was able to look at and develop their Junior Development Pathway.

Hukd Golf

Hukd Golf have developed a venue which breaks down barriers to offer a flexible option for people to come and experience golf, working with local clubs and coaches to make golf more accessible for beginners and families up to elite club level golfers.

From PGA golf lessons on leading tour-level Trackman golf simulators to themed crazy golf facilities, their offers highlight the opportunities that golfers have to keep playing through the winter months by visiting a local facility.

Bedfordshire Golf Club

Get into Golf is a campaign introduced by England Golf to help clubs and facilities engage with new audiences and make golf accessible for all.

Hosting the English Open for Golfers with a Disability in 2024, Stoke by Nayland Hotel, Golf & Spa demonstrates inclusive environment best practice throughout the year.

Walmley Golf Club

Walmley Golf Club and Walmley Golf Academy & Foundation are championing access to golf for all, with the UK’s first disability designed putting green and additional new infrastructure to break down barriers.

The Leicestershire Golf Club

The Leicestershire Golf Club has a thriving junior section, focused on having fun and building friendships. The club’s goal to ensure young people have fun on the course has resulted in the growth of a large junior-focused team, who have developed a strong, structured pathway and welcoming environment for all abilities.

Cheadle Golf Club

Cheadle Golf Club are keen to get as many people in their local area into golf as possible. They offer a range of open days, competitions, and sessions for golfers from all demographics.

One such session which has seen great success is Night Golf. This is perfect for subscribers to iGolf, the digital WHS™ handicap for the nomadic golfer, as it presents an opportunity for those with other commitments to attend the club.

Sturminster Marshall Golf Club

Sturminster Marshall have run England Golf's Girls Golf Rocks programme every year since 2016.

By hosting these sessions, the club has seen a high retention rate for girls aged 5-18 as participants look to continue their pathway into golf.

3 Hammers Golf Complex

3 Hammers Golf Complex promotes golf for everyone and removes barriers to entry, showing the many avenues available to get into golf. They have clear and transparent pathways, as well as strong relationships with local golf clubs which provide an extension to the golfer’s journey outside of the facility.

University of Exeter Golf Club

From local children and beginner golfers to high amateur level players, the University of Exeter Golf Club supports everyone to get into golf and develop their game.

Hendon Golf Club

Hendon Golf Club are signatories of the Women in Golf Charter and have worked to implement a pathway to golf for everyone in their local community. Focused on providing a space for all to feel more comfortable at the golf club, the academy introduces people to the game and provides a pathway for them to join club membership.

Seckford Golf Club's monthly Living with Dementia open day has ensured all members of staff and volunteering members are trained in dementia care and support, offering an invaluable group for carers and those living with dementia in the local area.

Seckford Golf Club

Seckford Golf Club is a members-owned, leased club that was almost bankrupt in January 2020. A conscious decision was made to make Seckford the most inclusive and welcoming club it could be. The flexible membership opens golf to both new players and those who cannot commit to playing enough golf to warrant a traditional membership.

Hillside Golf Club

England Golf collaborated with The R&A and the Golf Foundation for The Road to The Open project which included a club skills challenge held alongside the final day of The Amateur Championship at Hillside Golf Club on Saturday 24th June, where the winning team received tickets to attend The Open.

Todmorden Golf Club

Through the Get into Golf campaign, Todmorden Golf Club have been able to increase female participation and diversity within their membership.

By getting involved with the Give It A Shot Membership Campaign, Richmond Golf Club have created a loyal membership base, essential to the long-term sustainability of the club.

Sustainability has been a huge area focus for Bigbury Golf Club over recent years and their work in this field saw them land Sustainability Project of the Year at the 2023 England Golf Awards.

Juniors are flocking to Brent Valley after the club raised £16,000 to create their Junior Academy, 'The Parakeets', designed to encourage children from the local area to get into golf.
