Junior Golf Tours at County Level
Some Counties have been running a successful Junior Golf Tour for many years in order to support grass roots junior golfers in a competitive environment.
In addition, many counties have shown an interest in running this type of concept and have asked for some basic guidelines to be produced on how to create and deliver a Junior Golf Tour at county level.
The EGU/EWGA have therefore produced the document entitled ‘A Guide to Running a Junior Golf Tour at County Level’ – this document provides an overview of the concept and is a flexible guide that is intended to act as a starting point and will evolve as more counties develop examples of best practice.
It is important that this type of initiative is considered and ideally delivered by a County Golf Partnership (CGP) as it can link into other development initiatives as part of a structured development plan to grow the game. It is also likely than any potential funding for Junior Golf Tours will be directed through CGPs.
If you wish to develop a Junior Golf Tour within your county then please contact your Regional Development Officer to progress this.
