We are currently recruiting for;

  

Head of Participation - Maternity Cover (12 months)

Salary c. £28,000 – £36,000 per annum
+ pension, 33 days annual leave (includes Bank Holidays and company days)

We are the national governing body for amateur golf. We work at the heart of golf in England, supporting and empowering a thriving community of players, counties and clubs to get the most out of the game we love.

The role is responsible for managing three national managers and supporting their roles in increasing regular participation. The role will also entail supporting the development and implementation of specific participation projects. You will work closely with national partners, such as the Golf Foundation and Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) ensuring that good working relationships are maintained and information is received and provided accordingly. This role supports the regional and county workforce and must have a sound knowledge of sports development along with the structure of national, regional and county based sport.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

  • Prior sports administration experience.
  • Effective proven management of people and budgets.
  • An ability to build and sustain relationships.
  • Preparation and production of clear and thorough reports.
  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability and confidence to represent the company in external professional contexts.

The successful applicant will be confident, with excellent attention to detail and a positive can-do attitude. A knowledge of the game of golf is not essential however, would be highly advantageous.

The post is full-time (Monday – Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm core hours). The position is based at England Golf Headquarters, The National Golf Centre, The Broadway, Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire, LN10 6PU and will be required to attend meetings.

Regional Coach - South East Region U16 Girls

We are seeking applications for the position of Regional Coach to the South East Region Under 16 Girls Squad. Each Regional Squad will comprise players chosen at Assessment Days and will generally be for players under 16 years of age. The South Region consists of Kent and Sussex. 

The positions will be based on 20 days coaching with attendance at the England Golf coach education days and any relevant team meetings, induction and tournament attendance. 

The focus of the role will be to develop sound basics, technical competency, performance skills and an excellent short game in all players. 

Requirements of the applicant: 

  • PGA qualified;
  • Experience of developing elite golfers;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Sound management skills;
  • Enthusiastic, personable and competitive. 

This post has been identified as involving access to vulnerable adults and/or children and in line with England Golf policy successful applicants will be required to undertake a Disclosure & Barring Service Disclosure Check and must also have attended a Safeguarding and Protecting Children course (SPC) or be willing to undertake one.

Digital Communications Executive

Salary c. £23,000 – £28,000 depending on experience  

+ pension, 33 days annual leave (includes Bank Holiday and company days)

An exciting new opportunity has arisen to join our busy Marketing & Communications team.  The new role of the Digital Communications Executive will lead on all digital communications and social media, bringing specialist knowledge and skills to the application and integration of digital channels.  You will work with the Marketing & Communications Director to develop and implement a digital communications strategy and be responsible for maintaining all digital channels.  You need to work with appropriate external digital, advertising and creative agencies to deliver the strategy and have substantial practical experience of developing digital, conversion focused content.  Being highly organised you will need to plan, forecast and analyse campaigns and market activity to tight timescales. 

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

  • A knowledge of the full marketing mix including PR, social networking and offline/online communications
  • Proven application of market analysis to drive a digital communications strategy
  • Good creative and copywriting skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience of managing multiple social media platforms as a promotional tool
  • Prior experience of using Google analytics and implementing improvements to digital presence

The successful applicant needs to be self-motivated with a ‘can do’, results driven approach, excellent attention to detail, and ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and colleagues.  A knowledge of the game of golf is not essential.

The post is full-time (Monday – Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm core hours) however, you will need to be prepared to travel and work evenings and weekends on occasion, as necessary.  The position is based at England Golf Headquarters, The National Golf Centre, The Broadway, Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire, LN10 6PU.

Graphic Designer

Salary c. £23,000 – £28,000 depending on experience  

+ pension, 33 days annual leave (includes Bank Holiday and company days)

The Graphic Designer role is brand new for us as this work has previously been outsourced.  You will be working on design projects, producing artwork for both print and digital channels, providing creative input and deliver marketing, communications and promotional materials within brand standards.  We need someone who is creative and can develop and design graphic concepts and material, photography, imager and film in support of all that we do.  It is essential that you have experience working in an in-house design or agency environment for a minimum of 2 years. Being highly organised you must be able manage and prioritise multiple projects and deliver high-quality work to tight timescales. 

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

  • A degree or equivalent in Graphic Design, Or, relevant completed studies in graphic design or digital design
  • Knowledge and experience of email software tools and fluent in Adobe Creative Suite, keynote, MAC OSX, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Experience covering branding, typography, advertising, illustration, infographics, logos, icons, signage, event graphics, print and digital collateral and communication assets
  • Ability to translate ideas and concepts into vibrant executions
  • Demonstrate creativity, imaginative and innovate skills with the ability to take creative direction
  • An ability to articulate and present thoughts and creative ideas in a concise manner
  • Prior experience of web design and online design standards

The successful applicant needs to be self-motivated with a ‘can do’, results driven approach, a keen eye and attention to detail, and a team player who can work well in cross-functional teams.  A knowledge of the game of golf is not essential.

Women and Girls Coordinator

Salary c. £19,606 – £25,000 depending on experience  

+ pension, 33 days annual leave (includes Bank Holiday and company days)

An exciting new opportunity has arisen to support the delivery of our Women and Girls participation work.  Working in conjunction with our Women and Girls Participation Manager, the new role will involve coordinating the delivery of the Girls Golf Rocks initiative, Academy Away Days and other nationally driven women & girl’s projects.  The role will entail planning, overseeing the activation of and reviewing current and emerging projects to support a growth in the proportion of women and girls participating in golf.  Additional duties will include the development of case studies, collating and analysing data, developing and inputting into resources and support for the women & girls advisory group.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

  • The ability to gather and analyse information
  • Excellent team working skills with the ability to work collaboratively and co-operatively with colleagues
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects and deliver high quality work to tight timescales
  • Be able to build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues and volunteers

The successful applicant needs to be self-motivated with a ‘can do’, results driven approach, excellent attention to detail, and ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues and volunteers.  Prior experience in administration / project delivery is essential.  A knowledge of the game of golf is not essential however, would be beneficial.

The post is full-time (Monday – Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm core hours) however, may involve some evening and weekend work, as necessary.  The position is based at England Golf Headquarters, The National Golf Centre, The Broadway, Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire, LN10 6PU.

The post is contingent on the availability of external funding from the R&A for a period of 3 years.  This funding is subject to annual review by the funding agency and should it be withdrawn prior to the expiration of the 3-year term employment will cease with appropriate notice.   As the post is subject to external funding, there is also the possibility that the contract could be extended beyond the three year period.

Club Support Officer

(main work area – Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland)

Salary Band 3 (£20,000 - £25,000 per annum plus benefits)

England Golf’s 2017-2021 strategy has a strong focus on supporting Stronger Counties and Clubs. Club Support Officers are core to this delivery and provide a customer focused service to counties and clubs based on the demand within a designated region.  They support activities identified within County Action Plans to provide bespoke support to golf clubs looking to improve their business, increase their membership and player base and offering innovative solutions.  A key purpose is to help promote and raise awareness of our strategic ambitions and initiatives, including focus on marketing core market golfers within a designated region.

This vacancy covers the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland region.  Applicants will need to live within the main work area associated with this role.

We are seeking candidates, ideally, with a sports related diploma and sports development experience.  You must have a good knowledge of the structure of golf (general and administrative) and sport in general.  The skills required include the ability to communicate and present, work collaboratively with both paid staff and volunteers and IT skills.  You will also need to be highly motivated. 

Prior work experience in golf club environment and/or programme delivery is desirable but not essential.

These positions are home based, although successful candidates will be required to travel as necessary to meetings (valid driving licence & car owner is essential). The post-holder will be entitled to travel and other expenses.
