Head of Delivery

Salary Band 4 (£24,725 - £37,088 per annum plus benefits)
The Head of Delivery is a new role and is responsible for ensuring that Regional Managers and the County Development Officer network effectively deliver the participation and club support elements of England Golf's strategic plan, 'Raising our Game'.

You will need to have knowledge of national, regional and county based sport along with the structure of golf. It is essential that you have the ability to persuade and influence across a range of audiences and to build and sustain relationships with staff, volunteers and partners. You must be able to lead a team on key areas of delivery associated with the strategic plan and work closely with national partners to co-ordinate and support the delivery through regional networks.

The post is full-time (Monday – Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm core hours) and you will be required to travel/work weekends and evenings as appropriate. There is an office base at England Golf Headquarters, Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire, however home working will be considered.

U16 Boy's Manager - South Region - Volunteer position

England Golf is seeking applications for the voluntary position of Regional Manager to the U16 Boy’s Squad in the South Region. The South Region comprises the geographical area of Surrey, Hampshire, The Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands.

The squad will comprise of a maximum of six players each chosen at an Assessment Weekend and will be for players under 16 years of age. The voluntary position will require a commitment based on 20 days of coaching, plus attendance at the England Golf Christmas Coaching Conference, coach and manager education days and any relevant team meetings and tournament attendance.

The focus of the role will be to assist the Regional Coach with the delivery of the U16 Regional Coaching Programme and to successfully manage and mentor the players to give them the best environment for their golf development.

Requirements of the Applicant:

  • A working knowledge of elite amateur golf;
  • Dedicated to elite junior golf development;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Sound management skills;
  • Enthusiastic, personable and competitive.

This post has been identified as involving access to vulnerable adults and/or children and in line with England Golf policy successful applicants will be required to undertake a Disclosure & Barring Service Disclosure Check and must also have attended a Safeguarding and Protecting Children course (SPC) or be willing to undertake one.

Administration Team Manager

Salary Band 3 (£19,316 - £25,000 per annum plus benefits)

The Participation & Club Support department provides assistance to clubs in all aspects of golf facility and best practice. Responsible for managing the customer service and administration function within the Participation & Club Support team, the Administration Team Manager will co-ordinate the day to day administration work of the four administrators.

You need to be highly organised and able to maintain and develop effective processes for delivery. It is important to have excellent time management skills, the ability to prioritise work effectively and delegate appropriately. Excellent IT skills are essential. Knowledge of golf is desirable but not essential.

Marketing Administrator

Salary Band 2 (£14,011 - £18,956 per annum plus benefits)

We are looking for an Administrator to join our Marketing and PR team. England Golf are the governing body for amateur golf in England and are an outward looking organisation, responsible for developing and promoting the amateur game of golf in England. At England Golf we value, being honest, inclusive, responsible, excellent and supportive.

The successful candidate will need to have:

  • Knowledge of administrative procedures and of preparing reports and general correspondence
  • Knowledge and experience of managing data and/or customer service
  • An understanding of database marketing and campaign reporting and analysis
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in verbal and electronic forms
  • A comprehensive knowledge of word processing, email, spreadsheet and presentation software
  • An accurate and thorough approach with attention to detail and able to manage and prioritise multiple projects.

Knowledge of the game of golf is not essential.

Marketing Administrator (Intern)

Salary Band 1 (£13,104 - £14,733 per annum)
12 month placement

An exciting opportunity has arisen to support the Marketing & PR team in an administration role. We are the governing body for amateur golf in England and are an outward looking organisation, responsible for developing and promoting the amateur game of golf in England. At England Golf we value, being honest, inclusive, responsible, excellent and supportive.

The successful candidate will need to have:

  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Competence in the use of IT tools including spreadsheets, email and word processing 
  • An accurate and thorough approach and interested in design and creative content
  • The ability to work as part of a team and independently 

Knowledge of the game of golf is not essential.

Senior Regional Manager (South West)

Covering Cornwall, Devon, Dorest, Somerset and Wiltshire

Salary Band 4 (£24,725 - £37,088 per annum plus benefits)

One of the Senior Regional Manager’s main duties is to work with County Unions, Associations and Development Groups within a designated region on all aspects of golf development to implement national strategy locally. They are also required to oversee, support and manage a Regional Manager and a network of County Development Officers to deliver golf development within a specific region and counties.

You will need to have knowledge of national, regional and county based sport along with the structure of golf. It is essential that you have the ability to manage, empower and influence and are able to work with professionals and volunteers. Prior work in a leisure or golf related industry is essential and that of sports development or club management and operations work.

The post is full-time (Monday – Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm core hours) however you will be required to travel/work weekends and evenings as appropriate. It is preferred that the person lives within the Counties associated with this role due to travel requirements. The successful candidate may work from home or other remote office (for example golf club or country office).

Chair - Greenkeepers Training Committee Ltd

The GTC is the independent organisation representing British golf club employers that sets and monitors standards in greenkeeper education. It operates through a Board of Directors and relevant Advisory Groups. Its administration is carried out by the British and International Golf Greenkeepers Association (BIGGA) under a service level agreement.

The Chair will have a commitment to supporting the development of training and education opportunities provided to greenkeepers. This will be achieved through consensus between contributing partner organisations.

Appointment Terms:

The Chair will be appointed on an initial term up to 2019, with the option to extend for a further three-year term.

It is a voluntary role, all reasonable expenses to be reimbursed, with an anticipated time commitment of 10 – 15 days per annum and will report into the GTC Board.

The GTC Board meets up to three times per year with Advisory Groups and Special Project committees also meeting as necessary.

There will also be a requirement to attend BTME, meet with key stakeholders and engage with the greenkeeper training industry.

Meetings of the Board will usually be held at the offices of BIGGA, at Aldwark Manor in North Yorkshire.
