Volunteer Manager

Salary Band 3 (£19,606 - £32,678 per annum)
+ Pension, 33 days annual leave (includes Bank Holidays and Company days)

We are recruiting for a new position of Volunteer Manager, who will support the development and implementation of our volunteer action plan supporting clubs and counties; developing robust retention and recruitment solutions; ensuring close connection with core market interventions; strong links with the training and education programme and co-ordination with the people strategy.

Applicants must have a clear understanding of volunteer management and sports development, along with the structure of national, regional and county based sport. You will need to show knowledge of volunteer organisations, potential funding streams and show effective and proven management of budgets. Prior experience within a volunteer management and operations work is essential and within a sport or leisure industry. You will need the ability to build and sustain relationships with staff, volunteers and partners. You must have outstanding communication skills, be highly organised and be IT literate.

The position is full-time (Monday – Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm core hours). The position is based at The National Golf Centre, Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire, although there is the potential to work from home. Please state on application.

Club Support Officer's

Salary Band 3 (£20,000 - £25,000 per annum plus benefits)
+ Pension, 33 days annual leave (includes Bank Holidays and Company days)

England Golf’s new strategy is being launched in Spring 2017 with a strong focus on supporting Stronger Counties and Clubs. Club Support Officers are core to this delivery and provide a customer focused service to counties and clubs based on the demand within a designated region. They support activities identified within County Action Plans to provide bespoke support to golf clubs looking to improve their business, increase their membership and player base and offering innovative solutions. A key purpose is to help promote and raise awareness of our strategic ambitions and initiatives, including focus on marketing core market golfers within a designated region.

A number of vacancies are available and these are within specific regions. Applicants will need to live within the main work area associated with this role. Where a County is specified this is the preference for a successful applicant.

We are seeking candidates, ideally, with a sports related diploma and sports development experience. You must have a good knowledge of the structure of golf (general and administrative) and sport in general. The skills required include the ability to communicate and present, work collaboratively with both paid staff and volunteers and IT skills. You will also need to be highly motivated. 

Prior work experience in golf club environment and/or programme delivery is desirable but not essential.

These positions are home based, although successful candidates will be required to travel as necessary to meetings (valid driving licence & car owner is essential). The post-holder will be entitled to travel and other expenses.

Tenders

We are currently tendering for a;

Get into golf Activator (Covering Nottingham)

Do you love golf and love working with people?

Could you be a Get into golf Activator? We are looking for a passionate, caring and supportive person who loves working with people and loves Nottingham. The contracted role will raise the profile of golf in the city of Nottingham and encourage people of all ages, backgrounds and genders to experience the game and become more active in a fun and enjoyable way.

The focus will be to plan, lead and facilitate activity (but not coach) for residents in local, community environments (including parks), ensuring a high quality, enjoyable and fun experience centred on the needs of the individual, sharing information on how to continue taking part.

If appointed as our Get into golf Activator:
As part of the contract we will provide an induction to the role, and pay for attendance on a StreetGolf Activator workshop. We will also provide details of local networking, training sessions with other activators and other activities (if appropriate) which may help in the delivery.

As this role will have access to vulnerable adults and/or children, and in line with England Golf policy, the Get into golf Activator will be required to undertake a Disclosure & Barring Service Disclosure Check through golf and must also have attended a Safeguarding and Protecting Children course (SPC) within the last 3 years or be willing to undertake one.

The successful contractor will be required to have Public Liability insurance of £5M.

Contract term:
Approximately 6 months (contract to ideally start in May/early June)
We are looking for someone to provide approximately 20-25 hours per week (negotiable)

As a National Governing Body and not-for-profit organisation the Activator work has a limited budget. As part of the selection process tendered prices will be a consideration for the successful tender.
