England Golf Committee Vacancies

England Golf invites applications for the following committee vacancies within its team:

  • Championship Committee - 2 vacancies
  • Handicap and Course Rating Committee - 1 vacancy
  • Performance Committee - 1 vacancy
    Due to constitution rules the position with the Performance Committee is only available to women.

England Golf committees normally meet up to 4 times per year and reasonable and necessary expenses for attendance at meetings will be re-imbursed.

Please note these positions are open to members of any affiliated golf club in England and there is no requirement for the application to be either nominated or seconded by the golf club or county union/association.

County Development Officer - Norfolk

Salary £23,000 per annum (plus expenses)
Full time position 

Responsible for driving the delivery of the ‘Recruit’ and ‘Retain’ elements of the Norfolk County Golf Partnership Operational Plan up to 31st March 2017, in line with the England Golf Partnership’s Whole Sport Plan 2013-2017.

To help support the Norfolk County Golf Partnership objectives (made up of the Men’s Union, Ladies Association and local PGA) we require a County Development Officer to join our team on a fixed term contract up until 31st March 2017. This position is externally funded and subject to performance may be extended beyond this period.

We are seeking candidates, ideally with a sports related diploma, sports development experience and knowledge of golf and its administration. Skills required include the ability to work autonomously with exceptional written, verbal and IT communication skills. The role requires a highly motivated, passionate and target driven individual who has the ability to work well with skilled professionals and volunteers.

County Development Officer - Surrey

Salary £20,000 - £25,000 per annum dependant on experience (plus expenses)
Full time position

Driving the delivery of the ‘Recruit’ and ‘Retain’ elements of the Surrey Golf Partnership Operational Plan up to 31st March 2017, in line with England Golf’s strategic plan 2014 to 2017 ‘Raising our Game’.

To help support Surrey Golf Partnership’s objectives (made up of the Men’s Union, Ladies Association and PGA) we require a County Development Officer to join our progressive team, on a fixed term contract until 31st March 2017. This position is externally funded and, subject to performance, may be extended beyond this period.

We are seeking candidates, ideally, with a sports related diploma, sports development experience and a good knowledge of golf. The skills required include the ability to work autonomously, with written, verbal and IT communication skills, be highly motivated and have the ability to work with professionals and volunteers.

Club Relationship Manager

Salary band 3 (£18,750 - £31,250 per annum + benefits)

This a new position within England Golf and the role of the Club Relationship Manager is to develop and maintain relationships with key strategic partners that contribute towards the ‘stronger clubs’ element of the England Golf strategic plan. This will include account management support to multi golf club & course operators, insight partners and CONGU licensed Independent Software Vendors (ISV’s).

Applicants must have knowledge of the structure of national, regional & county based sport along with golf club management and/or facility management experience. An understanding of the structure of golf (general, club based & admin structure) is essential. You will need the ability to build and sustain relationships with staff, volunteers and partners and be able to develop and maintain strategic partnerships and stakeholder relationships.

Tenders

Monitoring and evaluation tender 
Regional Business Advisors tender


England Golf monitoring and evaluation tender. 

England Golf wishes to engage the services of a company with proven expertise to develop and deliver the monitoring and evaluation of the England Golf Increasing Membership and Participation Pilot programme up to September 2016 (anticipated start date of February 2015).

The ambitions of the programme include:
- Increasing the demand for participation in golf
- Stabilising regular (once a week) participation
- Stabilising club membership numbers
- Establishing new ways of working which lead to the growth of the game

In summary the monitoring & evaluation requirementswill be :
- Ongoing monitoring & evaluation programme in place to assess impact
- To capture how the pilot can be rolled out in other counties
- Primary measures of regular (once a week) participation and club membership
- Secondary measures include participant profiling, financial and wider impacts

England Golf Regional Business Advisors tender.

England Golf wishes to contract the services of up to three regional business advisors to support targeted golf clubs in developing a sustainable business model within the England Golf Increasing Membership & Participation (IMP) pilot programme between the 1st March 2015 and 30th September 2016.

The regional business advisors will be responsible for the delivery of specific objectives within the IMP pilot programme and will be expected to:

  • Provide appropriate business support to targeted clubs, through face to face, electronic and telephone communication
  • Engage with key leadership (paid and volunteer) within targeted clubs and to provide appropriate mentoring where possible
  • Produce appropriate reports for England Golf and action plans where appropriate for the targeted clubs
  • Engage with existing County Development Officers (CDOs) on a regularly basis and other partners through local project team meetings
  • Act as a mentor to CDOs to increase their knowledge around basic business support for golf clubs
  • Support the training & education programme that has been commissioned to engage with club volunteers
Proposals should be received by 17.00 hours on Monday 21
December 2014.
