New-look senior events for men and women

England Golf will run three senior tournaments next year which offer competition to both men and women.

There will be separate men’s and women’s competitions at each event, with both sections playing their own 36-hole stableford, off handicap. These events replace the senior women’s regional tournaments.

Entries, costing £50 per person, will be accepted online from 1 February 2013 on a first come, first served basis. The tournaments are open to women aged 50 and over, with maximum playing handicap of 24 and men aged 55 and over, with a maximum playing handicap of 20. The dates and venues are:

Senior Men’s and Women’s Midland Tournament at Leamington & County, Warwickshire
Practice day: 17 July
Competition: 18-19 July

Senior Men’s and Women’s South Tournament at Liphook, Hampshire
