Morpeth Golf Club this week announced they have been awarded a £50,000 grant by Sport England’s Inspired Facilities Programme. The grant will support the development of new Practice and Academy facilities at the club and some refurbishment of the ladies and girls changing facilities.

Bawburgh Golf Club, near Norwich, has won the GolfMark Club of the Year Award 2012, supported by COBRA-PUMA GOLF.

Volunteer of the Year Awards 2012

England’s top golf volunteers were recognised this week with awards for their inspiring work which encourages people to take up and enjoy the sport.

Philip Parker, President of the Devon County Golf Union in 2011, its centenary year, has been presented with one of the top England Golf honours - the 2012 Gerald Micklem award. He received the trophy at this week’s Annual Meeting at Woodhall Spa.

Following the recent merger of the English Golf Union with the English Women’s Golf Association to form England Golf, joint presidents for 2012 were voted into office at yesterday’s (Wednesday) Annual Meeting at Woodhall Spa.

England international Neil Raymond became the second English golfer in a week to triumph on foreign soil when he won the weather-curtailed New South Wales Medal after a tense playoff in Australia.
