England Golf is delighted to announce that Topgolf, the global sports entertainment leader, has joined its affiliation programme.
Topgolf’s three UK venues in Essex, Hertfordshire and Surrey, currently attract over 1 million visitors each year, and the brand’s significant expansion plans make them a key player in growing the game of golf.
The opportunity to affiliate – with wide-ranging benefits – has just been extended by England Golf to include ranges and short courses, as well as golf clubs. The move recognises that people play golf in different ways and at different venues and that all should be offered the same support.
Affiliation offers the chance to make use of England Golf’s extensive business support and to achieve the new SafeGolf accreditation, demonstrating a commitment to safeguarding children and young people.
Topgolf’s decision to affiliate strengthens their partnership with England Golf, which was announced earlier this year. It brings the two organisations together to learn from each other to attract more people into golf, to improve the image of the game and to make the sport more inclusive and accessible. The partnership is also an opportunity to swap information and test new ideas.
Topgolf’s Andrew Agnoli said: “Topgolf UK is delighted to be part of England Golf’s affiliation programme. In particular the new SafeGolf accreditation and our commitment to growing golf make it an easy choice for us to be a part of this.”
Abbie Lench, England Golf’s Head of Club Support, commented: “We are delighted to offer the benefits of affiliation to ranges and short courses and very excited that Topgolf has recognised the value of this opportunity and been so quick to join us.
“We hope that many other organisations will follow in their footsteps and we’re looking forward to working with more facilities to grow the game.”
Around 1900 golf clubs are already affiliated to England Golf and the decision to extend this opportunity to ranges and short courses was made earlier this year.
