SafeGolf Case Management Group (CMG) Member

We are looking for two people to join our SafeGolf Case Management Group (CMG). The CMG play an important part in supporting the safety and well-being of children, young people and adults in golf. Whilst these are volunteer roles, they are essential to our organisation and vital for ensuring golf is a safe sport for all.

The CMG provides advice and guidance in relation to safeguarding concerns, cases and Adverse DBS disclosures. The members are required to make fair, considered and proportionate decisions with regard to the route a safeguarding concern may take.

We need people with:

  • A passion for the safety and wellbeing of children, young people and adults.
  • The ability to deal in a helpful, friendly and professional way with a wide range of people.
  • An analytical ability to assess and balance risks, and willing to back judgement.
  • A flexible and team player approach.
  • A highly developed sense of personal integrity.

If you have skills and knowledge in the following areas, we would love to hear from you:

  • Current or previous knowledge of safeguarding, adult welfare and child protection management achieved from work within Education or Police.
  • Significant knowledge and experience or interest in the safeguarding of children, young people and adults in the sport or voluntary sector.
  • Understanding of the statutory context in which sports NGBs and bodies operate and provide activities for children, young people and adults.
  • Ability to interpret and resolve complex and sometimes conflicting information around concerns received by the CMG.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely in oral and written form.
  • Diplomacy
  • The ability to demonstrate a high level of confidentiality.

Members of the Case Management Group currently include the Lead Safeguarding Officers from England Golf, Wales Golf, The PGA and the Golf Foundation.
