How to support the England Golf Trust

There are a number of ways you can support the England Golf Trust:

Making a donation
Making a bequest
Buying a diary
Buying branded clothing
Run a Trust Stableford Competition

Making a donation
Each year the Trust has valued the donations that have been made. The money has supported young female golfers, whether for coaching for higher handicapped girls to help them improve or providing essential equipment for girls who could not otherwise afford it. In future these funds will be available for young men and women

We very much appreciate the money sent to us by County Associations, Ladies’ Sections of golf clubs and individuals. If you are a UK tax payer then please let us have your address so we may claim back the Gift Aid on your donation.

Cheque should be made out to The England Golf Trust and sent to:

Making a bequest
Leaving a gift in your Will to charity is a way of showing you care.

It is very important that you make a Will to reflect your wishes and current circumstances. Without a Will, loved ones can be left in a difficult position so it is best to make your intentions clear.

To prepare a Will for the first time we recommend you consult a legal advisor to ensure it is valid and all legal formalities are followed. Making a Will is the only way to make sure that your wishes will be respected and that your friends and family are taken care of.

If you choose to update your Will to reflect a change in circumstances or wishes, this can be done using a Codicil.

We understand that family and loved ones come first when making your Will. If you then choose to leave a gift to the EG Trust, no matter what the size, we can assure you that each gift will go towards helping a young man or woman experience the pleasure that playing golf can bring.

There are two ways in which you can choose to remember the EG Trust in your Will:

Residuary Legacy: By choosing to leave the residue of your estate, or a percentage of this, to the Charity, you will be donating anything that remains upon your death, after all debts and charges have been paid. This is known as a residuary bequest.

Pecuniary Legacy: Alternatively you might consider making a donation of a specific amount in your Will to the Charity, known as a pecuniary bequest. This will be paid before the distribution of the residue of your estate.

Buying a diary

Trust Stableford

For several years Ladies' Sections have supported the England Golf Trust, by fundraising at a nominated Stableford competition.  The England Golf Trust Women’s Stableford Competitions’ purpose is to raise funds to support young golfers of any level who, without some financial assistance, would not be able to continue playing the game.  In 2016 clubs raised over £2000, in addition to the competition entry fees, to help our young players stay in the game.  The Volunteer Trustees are very grateful for all donations, as they help greatly.

The competition consists of a preliminary round, which is any women’s club Stableford (both weekday and weekend ladies qualifying competitions), played before 6th July and a National final at a championship venue.  The highest points scorer from Divisions 1, 2 and 3 (20 and below) and from Divisions 4 and 5 (21 to 36) will add their scores together and the top 30 pairs will be invited to play in the National final, which will be a Better Ball pairs competition.  This year’s final will be held at Kings Norton Golf Club on Tuesday, 22nd August 2017.  The competition may be extended in 2018 to include men and juniors.
