Bridgestone ‘Chase Your Dream’ Men’s Trophy
(inc Regional Medal Finals and the Grand Medal Final)

The following must be read in conjunction with the England Golf “General Conditions and Rules”, “Hard Card” and other related policies applicable to all England Golf Championships, all of which can be found at www.englandgolf.org/championships

Conditions of Competition

1. Eligibility and stages of the competition

a. The Tournament shall be open to male amateur golfers of all ages, who are members of clubs affiliated to England Golf and in possession of a competition “c” handicap under the CONGU Unified Handicapping System.

b. The Tournament shall be played in three stages:
 Stage One:    Club qualifying rounds
 Stage Two:    Regional medal finals
 Stage Three: The National final

2. Stage One: Club qualifying rounds

a. A club qualifying competition is an 18 hole stroke play competition (medal or Stableford), qualifying for handicap purposes with full handicap allowance.

b. All club qualifying competitions must be played not later than December 31st of the year prior to the Stage Two Regional Finals and shall be played over the club’s normal competition course, or if the club has more than one course, one of its normal competition courses.

c. Each club will receive a regional medal final entry form to complete. These are supplied by England Golf. The form must be completed and returned to England Golf’s Championship department by the stated deadline, together with the entry fee. The club secretary must sign and verify the player’s entry form. Alternatively, players may enter online.

d. Only winners are permitted to enter the Regional medal finals. Runners-up or substitutes are not permitted.

3. Stage Two: Regional medal finals

a. The maximum field size per Regional medal final is 120 players, playing 18 holes of medal stroke play with full handicap allowance, and shall be qualifying for handicap purposes.

b. England Golf will contact the entrants from the club qualifying rounds who have qualified into the Regional medal finals.

c. In the event of a Regional medal final being over-subscribed, the nett differential (difference between club qualifying round score and CSS) will decide which players are added to a reserve list.

d. The winner of each Regional medal final shall be the competitor who returns the lowest nett score over 18 holes and shall be presented with a memento at the National final.

e. In the event of a tie for places, England Golf General Condition 15b (countback) will apply using nett scores relative to par for the holes concerned according to the stroke indexes on the players’ score cards.

f. Transportation/ Buggies: General Condition 18 applies.

4. Stage Three: The National Final

a. The National final shall comprise of a maximum field size of 60 players, taken on a pro-rata basis from the Regional medal finals.
Note: The England Golf Championship Committee has the authority to give exemptions from County qualifiers into the Final at their discretion.

b. The final shall be played over 18 holes of medal stroke, qualifying for handicap purposes with full handicap allowance.

c. Transportation/ Buggies: General Condition 18 applies.

d. The overall winner shall be presented with the trophy, a memento and a prize voucher. Prize vouchers will be awarded to the top 3 places.

e. In the event of a tie for places, England Golf General Condition 15b (countback) will apply using nett scores relative to par for the holes concerned according to the stroke indexes on the players’ score cards.

f. The top 9 places will be awarded a place at the Bridgestone Challenge Pro-Am.
