Matty Lamb (Hexham, Northumberland), winner of last month’s Sir Henry Cooper Junior Masters, has been chosen in a group of three to represent England Golf in the 54-hole RB German Junior at Heddesheim Gut Neuzenhof Golf Club, near Mannheim, on 6th – 8th August.
He will be joined by Christopher Handy (South Moor, Durham) and Jordan Wrisdale (Boston, Lincolnshire), at the event previously known as the Harder German Junior Masters.
Lamb, 15 (image copyright Leaderboard Photography), returned sub-par figures for his last three rounds to win the Sir Henry Cooper by two strokes at Nizels in Kent. Last year, he won the Scottish under 14 Championship at Buchanan Castle and finished runner-up in the English under 14 Championship for the Reid Trophy at Blackwell.
Handy, 16, finished leading individual in the Northern Group Boys Qualifying over his home course and was third in the North Region Schools Championship at Denton.
Wrisdale, 17, was capped at under 16 level against Scotland and Ireland last year and finished joint third behind Lamb in the Sir Henry Cooper Junior Masters. A member of the England Boys squad, this year he has won the Lincolnshire Boys Championship and the Brabazon Trophy Northern Qualifier at Worksop.
