A mixed team of eight teenagers have been selected for the annual U16 England v Spain international, at Centro Nacional de Golf Madrid on May 21 and 22.
They are: Barclay Brown and Charlie Daughtrey of Yorkshire; James Cooper of Wiltshire; Annabell Fuller of Surrey; Harry Goddard of Hertfordshire;
Lily May Humphreys of Essex; Ebonie Lewis of Gloucestershire and Mimi Rhodes of Somerset.
Barclay Brown, 15, (Hallamshire) had a string of high finishes in major U16 championships last year and followed up this season with 11th place in the Peter McEvoy Trophy.
James Cooper, 16, (Cumberwell Park) was runner up at the U16 spring championship at Hawkstone Park and ninth in the Peter McEvoy Trophy.
Charlie Daughtrey, 15, (Rotherham) was ninth in last year’s North of England U16 boys and had a top 20 finish in this season’s Peter McEvoy Trophy.
Annabell Fuller, 14, (Roehampton) was runner up in the Scottish U18 girls’ championship and in the U16 spring championship at Hawkstone Park.
Harry Goddard, 16, (Hanbury Manor) is the North of England U16 boys’ champion, was third in the 2015 German Junior Masters and ninth in this season’s Fairhaven Trophies.
Lily May Humphreys, 14, (Channels) is the English U14 girls’ champion and has just won the girls’ title at the Fairhaven Trophies. She was fourth in a recent WPGA event.
Ebonie Lewis, 15, (Knowle) was runner up in the Hampshire Rose and third in the Delamere Comboy Scratch trophy. She was sixth in the 2015 English U16 girls’ amateur.
Mimi Rhodes, 14, (Burnham & Berrow) was runner-up in the 2015 English U14 championship and has had top 20 finishes in this year’s Irish and Scottish open girls’ championships.
