Four of England Golf’s brightest talents are heading to Chile next month to take part in the South American Amateur Championship.
Gloucestershire’s Caley McGinty, pictured above, and Somerset’s Mimi Rhodes will fly the flag for England’s women.
Wiltshire’s Jake Bolton and Gloucestershire’s Joe Long – both members of the England Men’s squad – are also destined for Santiago.
The event will take place at Sport Frances Golf Club on the outskirts of the Chilean capital between January 8-11.
McGinty,19, flies to Chile from her college base in America on the back of winning four events in 2019 including the Frilford Scratch Salver and the Astor Salver.
It has also been a fine year for Rhodes. The 17-year-old won the Justin Rose Telegraph Junior Masters in November and represented Europe in the Junior Solheim Cup at Gleneagles.
Bolton, 21, is hoping to build on his breakthrough win at the Scottish Amateur Stroke Play in August.
Long, 22, is looking to start 2020 with a positive performance after finishing third in the European Men’s Amateur Championship in 2019.
In the 2019 South American Amateur Championship, England men’s squad player Tom Plumb finished third, a single shot adrift of winner Chris Crisologo from Canada.
In the women’s event, English representatives Emily Brennan and Georgina Blackman earned top 20 finishes.
