The search is on to find golf's unsung heroes who give up their time to inspire others to take up and enjoy golf.

England Golf is seeking nominations for its first annual awards, which will recognise, celebrate and reward individuals and groups who have made outstanding contributions to ‘raise our game’ and build a bright future for the sport.

The winners will be those who contribute within golf clubs, schools, county golf partnerships, training schemes or many other programmes. 

To nominate please click here and complete the easy-to-follow nomination form. The closing date is Friday 27 February, 2015. The awards will be presented at a national conference in April 2015.

There are seven different award categories which include recognition for lifetime achievers and those who increase participation and club membership.

YOUNG VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR
Recognising a young individual (male or female) who has shown outstanding dedication and contribution to the game within golf clubs, schools, counties, training schemes or any other programmes developing golf. Nominees must be under 18 on 27 February, 2015.

VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR
Recognising an individual (male or female) who has shown outstanding dedication and contribution to the game within golf clubs, schools, counties, training schemes or any other programmes developing golf.

LIFETIME SERVICE AWARD
Recognising an individual (male or female) who has contributed to the game over a sustained period of time with outstanding achievement and success.

PARTICIPATION AWARD
Recognising a group or individual who has made an outstanding contribution to increase the number of people who play golf regularly.

MEMBERSHIP AWARD
Recognising a group or individual who has made an outstanding contribution to increasing the number of players in club membership.

MODERNISATION AWARD
Recognising a group or individual who has made an outstanding contribution to changing the perception of golf and improving communications within the sport, leading to significant improvements in a club’s infrastructure and partnerships with other golfing organisations.

TALENT PATHWAY AWARD
Recognising a group or individual who has made an outstanding contribution to developing and strengthening links between club and county talent pathway to support talented young players.
