England Golf AGM: Positive report for 2021

England Golf today welcomed county representatives to the National Golf Centre at Woodhall Spa for its Annual General Meeting.

Chairman Nic Coward, chief executive officer Jeremy Tomlinson and chief operating officer Richard Flint addressed the floor and presented operational details relating to 2021.

At the meeting, non-executive directors Kevin Tucker and Phillipa Cook were re-elected to the England Golf board.

The December 2021 appointment of Wasim Haq to the role of senior independent director was also ratified.

President Graham Yates handed over duties to his successor Les Wilson with Chris Pascall now in position as president-elect.

With golf club membership rising by 90,000 to a total of 737,000 in 2021 at the same time as iGolf provided the opportunity for over 17,000 non-members to obtain an official WHS handicap index, participation figures continue to be strong despite the challenges posed in another pandemic-affected year.

Success for England’s elite amateur golfers on an individual and team basis was also acknowledged as further evidence of the positive reputation of the game in this country.

SafeGolf accreditation for clubs and counties, the development of the My EG app linked to the roll out of the new World Handicap System and England Golf’s Course Planner strategy were also key events from 2021.
