England beat France 5-4 in friendly

The England squad warmed up for the start of today’s French Lady Junior Championship at St Cloud, near Paris, with a 5-4 win in a friendly against France.

Today, they start the 36-hole strokeplay qualifying process for the matchplay stages of the Esmond Trophy, which is contested by the cream of Europe’s U21 golfers.

The squad includes British champion Lauren Taylor, Curtis Cup players Holly Clyburn, Bronte Law and reserve Georgia Hall, and Faldo Series champion Brogan Townend (pictured, image copyright Leaderboard Photography)

Norfolk’s Amber Ratcliffe (Royal Cromer) has had to pull out of the championship after suffering a wrist injury.
