The England team for next week’s women’s Home Internationals at Ballybunion, Ireland, includes champions and Curtis Cup players.
The team is:
Lianna Bailey, 21, (Kirby Muxloe, Leicestershire)
Georgina Blackman, 22, (Chelmsford, Essex)
India Clyburn , 21, (Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire)
Sammy Fuller, 19, (Roehampton, Surrey)
Lily May Humphreys, 16, (Stoke by Nayland, Essex)
Hollie Muse, 18, (West Lancashire, Lancashire)
Nicola Slater 18, (Lindrick, Yorkshire)
Bailey (pictured) has won the St Rule Trophy, Blackman is the new English women’s amateur champion, Clyburn is a Curtis Cup player, Fuller was runner-up in the English women’s match play, Humphreys is a Curtis Cup player and won the Helen Holm Scottish open stroke play, Muse reached the semi-finals of the British women’s amateur and qualified to play in the Ricoh Women’s British Open, Slater is the English women’s match play champion.
The team reserves are: Emily Brennan (Trentham, Staffordshire) and Emily Toy (Carlyon Bay, Cornwall).
England will be aiming to regain the title which it lost to Ireland last year after a run of three consecutive wins.
The championship will be played from Wednesday to Friday, 8-10 August, simultaneously with the girls’ Home Internationals
