Amy Knotts produced an emphatic display over 36 holes to claim the 2021 Girls County Champion of Champions title at Woodhall Spa.
The Essex golfer carded two identical rounds of 73 around the challenging Bracken Course to finish on a two over par total, a commanding five shots clear of her nearest rival, Faye Wheatley from Durham.
Sussex’s Salysa Mason was third ahead of Hertfordshire’s Anna Malloy and Kent’s Ellena Slater.
However, the day belonged to Knotts, who was delighted to win her first national trophy.
She said: “It feels good. It’s nice to win on a national level.
“I felt confident. I knew the holes that I could take advantage of after my practice round yesterday.
“I knew I just had to keep going and not worry about other people and what they’re up to because I can only control what I’m doing, so I just stayed in the moment and took it one shot at a time.”
Knotts joins a list of winners of the event which includes 2019 champion Lily Hirst (Yorkshire), Suffolk’s Alice Barlow (2016), Bedfordshire’s Georgia Staroscik (2017) and Sophie Wheeler (2018) from Essex.
