SAFEGUARDING AND PROTECTING CHILDREN WORKSHOPS
The Children in Golf group has worked with SportscoachUK to offer Safeguarding and Protecting Children Workshops to those involved with junior golf. It is universally recognised within sport and local authorities as an appropriate form of training for sports coaches and volunteers.
The workshop is aimed at Golf Professionals, Junior Organisers, Volunteers, Club Welfare Officers and Secretary/Managers and is usually delivered by a member of the England Golf Partnership Team, and is therefore tailored for the needs of our sport. At the workshop, attendees will:
- Discuss what constitutes good and poor practice
- Discuss a range of child protection issues and scenarios
- Be given information on how to respond to an incident or allegation
- Receive a copy of the "Guidelines for Safeguarding Children in Golf" & certificate of attendance
You can view current golf specific workshops and reserve your place at; www.childreningolf.org.uk
Alternatively you can find details of generic workshops at www.sportscoachuk.org
Time to Listen Workshops
Children in Golf will shortly be offering a training workshop specifically aimed at Club Welfare Officers, to assist them in their role. If you are a Club Welfare Officer in England please email k.mullen@englandgolf.org with your name, address, email address, telephone number and the name of your club, entitling the message "Time To Listen Training" and we will then contact you when the workshops are being arranged to invite you to attend. In the meantime, make sure you attend a Safeguarding and Protecting Children workshop.
