Championships Manager

Salary c. £25,096 - £30,000 per annum plus benefits
+ pension, 33 days annual leave (includes Bank Holiday and company days)

Our Championship department are responsible for providing excellent championships and competitions for golfers of all levels. The Championship Manager’s purpose is to organise and administer the national championships/tournaments run by England Golf, as directed by the Championship Director.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

  • A broad experience of Golf and Golf Administration
  • Experience of playing/event running at County/Regional level
  • Excellent knowledge of the Rules of Golf
  • Good working knowledge of golf related software
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines are imperative

The successful application will be self-motivated, able to work as part of a team and have strong communication and organisational skills.

A full clean driving licence and willingness to work unsocial hours and away from home, are essential.

The post is required to work flexibly and requires travel, evening and weekend work. Due to the nature of the role it is necessary that the successful candidate can accommodate additional hours as required. The role will require regular levels of physical effort and is based at England Golf Headquarters, The National Golf Centre, The Broadway, Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire, LN10 6PU.

Club Support Officer

(main work area/County – Cornwall)
Salary Band 3 (£20,000 - £25,000 per annum plus benefits)

England Golf’s new strategy is being launched in Spring 2017 with a strong focus on supporting Stronger Counties and Clubs. Club Support Officers are core to this delivery and provide a customer focused service to counties and clubs based on the demand within a designated region. They support activities identified within County Action Plans to provide bespoke support to golf clubs looking to improve their business, increase their membership and player base and offering innovative solutions. A key purpose is to help promote and raise awareness of our strategic ambitions and initiatives, including focus on marketing core market golfers within a designated region.

This vacancy covers the Cornwall region. Applicants will need to live within the main work area associated with this role.

We are seeking candidates, ideally, with a sports related diploma and sports development experience. You must have a good knowledge of the structure of golf (general and administrative) and sport in general. The skills required include the ability to communicate and present, work collaboratively with both paid staff and volunteers and IT skills. You will also need to be highly motivated.

Prior work experience in golf club environment and/or programme delivery is desirable but not essential.

These positions are home based, although successful candidates will be required to travel as necessary to meetings (valid driving licence & car owner is essential). The post-holder will be entitled to travel and other expenses.

Regional Coach - South Region U16 Boys

England Golf is seeking applications for the position of Regional Coach to the South Region Under 16 Boys Squad. Each Regional Squad will comprise players chosen at Assessment Days and will generally be for players under 16 years of age. The South Region consists of the Surrey, Hampshire, Isle of Wight and Channel Islands geographical areas.

The position will be based on 20 days coaching with attendance at the England Golf Christmas Coaching Conference, coach education days and any relevant team meetings, induction and tournament attendance.

The focus of the role will be to develop sound basics, technical competency, performance skills and an excellent short game in all players.

Requirements of the Applicant:
 

  • PGA Qualified;
  • Experience of developing elite golfers;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Sound management skills;
  • Enthusiastic, personable and competitive
