An exciting new opportunity has arisen to join our busy Marketing and Communications team, here, at the national governing body for amateur golf. We work at the heart of golf in England, supporting and empowering a thriving community of players, counties and clubs to get the most out of the game we love. The role of Administrator will provide support in the delivery of our marketing and communications strategy. They will assist the Membership Marketing Manager in the delivery of membership development initiatives, offers and events as well as the wider Marketing and Communications team as appropriate. They will update and maintain relevant databases, support the updating of various online activity, respond to enquiries and assist with relevant market research and the compilation of reports.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

  • A knowledge of administrative procedures and of preparing reports, minutes, general correspondence and arranging travel.
  • A knowledge and experience around managing data and customer service.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in verbal and electronic forms.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects and deliver high-quality work to tight timescales.
  • A comprehensive knowledge of the entire MSOffice suite, including spreadsheet and PowerPoint presentation applications.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues.

The successful applicant will be confident, with excellent attention to detail and a positive can-do attitude. A knowledge of the game of golf is not essential.

The post is full-time (Monday – Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm core hours) however, travel may be required and there will be some need to travel and work evenings and weekends as necessary. The position is based at England Golf Headquarters, The National Golf Centre, The Broadway, Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire, LN10 6PU.

We're looking for a

National Welfare Officer

to join our Governance team.

Salary c. £20,000 – £25,000 per annum pro rata depending on experience plus benefits 
+ pension, 33 days annual leave pro rata (includes Bank Holiday and company days)

This is an exciting, new and critical role with England Golf. The National Welfare Officer will work across the organisation and specifically with our Performance team, who work with our England Squads, our elite amateurs representing England.

You will support the Lead Safeguarding Officer in all matters relating to players welfare and safety, under the care of England Golf. Your role is to provide sufficient welfare support to players and families and ensure that professional conduct and supervisory roles are maintained whilst teams/individuals are at training and events. The role will require extensive travel with individuals/teams with the knowledge and ability to oversee individual’s needs and respond to safeguarding concerns.

This post has been identified as involving access to vulnerable adults and/or children and in line with England Golf policy successful applicants will be required to undertake a Disclosure & Barring Service Disclosure Check and must also have attended a Safeguarding and Protecting Children course (SPC) or be willing to undertake one.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

  • Knowledge and experience of safeguarding and working with children at an operational level
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to develop positive and supportive relationships with individuals, players, parents, volunteers and staff at all levels.
  • Prior experience working with children
  • Understanding of roles and responsibilities of statutory agencies
  • Robust and accurate record keeping
  • Display attitude and behaviour that respects and values diversity and promotes equal opportunity
  • An ability to undertake basic risk assessments

The successful applicant needs to be highly motivated with a positive solution focussed attitude and a clear understanding of confidentiality. A knowledge of the game of golf is not essential for the role, however, would be advantageous. We value being honest, inclusive, responsible, excellent and supportive.

This is an annualised hour’s contract (910 hours per annum) due to the fluctuating working hours and demand. The role will require extensive travel, including international travel. You will be required to work weekends/evenings as well as during school holidays. The position is home-based with attendance at events and England Golf Headquarters as required.

Volunteer Opportunities

 

National U18 Girls’ Squad Manager

We are seeking applications for the voluntary position of National U18 Girls’ Squad Manager. 

The voluntary position will require a commitment based on approximately 21 days of coaching between November and June (including a warm weather camp in February half term). Time around the coaching camps may be required for administration processes and communication with players and home teams. Attendance at tournaments and matches is to be agreed with the Performance Director and Performance Manager (Women’s Golf) and days could range from 14 to 26 days from April to September. Attendance will be required at the England Golf Coaching Conference in November 2017 and CPD event in May 2018, plus any relevant team meetings. 

The focus of the role will be to support the England Girls’ Lead Coach and supporting coaches in the delivery of the coaching programme to players selected for the England Girls’ Squad.

Requirements of the Applicant:

  • A working knowledge of the needs and requirements of elite young sports people;
  • Experience of coordinating and managing coaching programmes in golf or in another sport;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • A sound understanding of safeguarding principles;
  • Able to use Microsoft Office packages and communicate effectively remotely;
  • Has managerial experience;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Enthusiastic, personable and competitive.

The Golf Foundation is looking to recruit an experienced fundraiser who will be integral to our Senior Management Team while making a significant contribution across the organisation as a genuine team player, and contributing to the ongoing growth of the charity.

The person we seek will have a proven track record in securing income from a programme of major giving, as well as the ability to help the Golf Foundation attract more funding from golf clubs.
