Thorndon Park is a parkland course, playing across springy, well draining turf, to a design little changed from Harry Colt's original layout. The backdrop is Thorndon Hall, a magnificent 18th century building once owned by the Petre family. No two holes are alike at Thorndon, offering a good test of golf as well as an attractive and secluded round. The third hole in particular, with its tee shot across a lake, is a classic risk/reward hole. The more lake you choose to take on, the nearer to the green you can get. As Sir Michael Bonnallack says in his introduction to our website, "...a special treat, a round of golf at Thorndon Park..."
