High Post Golf Club

The warmest of welcomes awaits you at this classic and rare down-land golfing experience, with arguably the finest and quickest greens in the south. The club, like most Open Championship Venues, promotes fescue grasses - considered to produce the finest quality putting surfaces for conditions in Northern Europe. Summer tees and greens are playable all year. The natural terrain is free draining and easy walking. However, perhaps the course’s greatest asset is the outstanding quality of the turf on the fairways, almost guaranteeing the golfer the perfect lie every time. Established in 1922, the English Golf Union has recognised our course as a great test of golf by asking us to host the Carris Trophy in 1999 and the English Boys Open in 2008 - both attracting strong international fields. High Post’s reputation is further enhanced by the legendary Peter Alliss, who once rated our ninth hole in his top 18 dream holes in the UK. Having ‘tamed the course', enjoy refreshments and excellent fayre in a relaxed environment whilst absorbing the superb views overlooking the Wiltshire countryside.
